Nine Eleven (stylized as 9/11) is a Peppish pop group formed on May 7, 2009, in preparation for season 7 of Peppish Idol. The group won the competition, resulting in them (as well as the runner-up and Master Idol of season 7) being signed to one of Pennzoil.Inc's music division's sub-divisions, 4seven Records.
The pop group consists of Jadeah Williams, Rhiannon Parker, Janet Abdullah, Carly Watson, Onika Gundam, Vernetta Hamilton, Ronnie-Anne Simpson, Mara Wilson, Britney Jackson, Kylie Bradford and Nina Addison.
Professional career[]
Nine Eleven released their debut EP, Songs of Innocence and Pleasure, on November 30, 2009, followed by their first studio album, Mockingbird, on June 11, 2010, both of which topped the music charts. Their sophomore studio album, I'm Tired of Being Sexy (2011), put more of a focus on activism, with the 2011 album focusing more on sexual abuse, women's rights, and pedophilia.
Shameless Cannibal (2014) became the pop group's most successful album, with CD sales of 11.7 million and digital sales of 1.2 billion, despite initial negative criticism by professional critics. Charmbracelet (2015) and Hard Candy (2016) followed suit, and both albums received mixed criticism from Nine Eleven's target audience.
Their latest album, BFF, was released on July 7, 2018, and Nine Eleven's next studio album is set to be released in 2019.
